One of mynew year’s resolutions is to read at least twenty novels and/or graphic novels.
My favorite genre is fantasy, particularly urban fantasy. Urban fantasy, as the name implies, is a fantastic narrative that takes place in an urban setting. Many urban fantasies are set in contemporary times and contain supernatural elements; however the stories can take place in historical, modern, or futuristic periods, as well as fictional settings.
I used to read all the time. Key words “used to.” I’ve been so busy with settling into married life, working and improving my blog/youtube channel that I’ve had next to no time for reading. I’ve decided to make time. I feel reading is an important element to learning and utilizing a better vocabulary (not to mention intellect) and lately I’ve found myself slipping into bad habits.
Book number one is Cold Days written by Jim Butcher from my favorite book series, The Dresden Files. I also look forward to reading The Son of Neptune, Mark of Athena, and beginning the Game of Thrones series.
