I am a huge coward when it comes to horror games, horror movies I can handle no problem, but horror games? I can’t…I can’t cope. My theory is that I am somewhat removed from a movie, watching their actions and events unfold without my involvement. Video games on the other hand require the player to propel events forward. I get so tense and focused on any little action that I jump out of my skin when anything on the screen suddenly changes, ANYTHING.
Through purchasing humble bundles I’ve come into the possession of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dead Space. In celebration of Halloween, I will play the first 30 minutes of one or the other, alone in a room, in the dark and post it on Halloween. The choice is up to you, leave a comment below and whichever one you pick, I will suffer through…
The choice is yours…
Dead Space, so maybe if I see you playing it I'll start playing it too (yes, I'm a coward too).
ReplyDeleteTotally understandable!
DeleteI want to play the first one because I've played a bit of the 3rd on XBOX and I liked it, but I need to play the fist two before playing the last one on my PC. If only I could buy some bravery ahahahah
Deletei was hoping you would play Outlast as i am watching Jessie play that now and it looks great but out of those i would do Dead space and if you could do a face cam that be awesome
ReplyDeleteI am trying to use games I already own, otherwise I'd throw Outlast into the mix!
DeleteHmmm? Thats a tough one but I'd say play dead space 1. Its is scarry especially if you never played it before and has a good story with lots of lore... But to tell the truth it'd be fun to play any scarry game lol :D
ReplyDeleteFun? FUN!? My heart will be in my throat! lol
DeleteWell you work with Jesse, so Outlast is a great choice, but it seems redundant. My first choice is thus, however, if you too feel that it's redundant, I'd say go with Amnesia 2. In the end though it comes down to you. What do you have, what do you want to play and how cowardly are ya? =P (Also amnesia 2 I hear, is barely scary, just jump scares, mostly).
ReplyDeleteSo, now that I am at home, I realize that I am a moron and the picture loading makes all the difference. XD I feel like Dead Space is the better of the two for you to do. I feel like Amnesia would devolve into a ton of hiding and the lack of story would lessen your enjoyment. Dead Space, I feel, is far more suitable game for your temperament (not to mention that it gives you a break from the horror atmosphere once in a while). It has a decent, although predictable, story, the game is equal puzzle, action and adaptability.
DeleteI dunno, honestly I see a lot of hiding in cupboards in the Amnesia playthrough. XD But in the words of the internet, "Why not both?!"
I am leaving my foolishness there, that my shame live on. XD
Good point, as scary as the necromorphs are in Dead Space, I can fight back rather than hide!
DeleteI physically could not handle Dead Space, which is to say that my body would pump out so much adrenaline every time those things attacked out of nowhere, I thought I was in serious danger of a heart attack. You know that awful metallic taste you get in your mouth when there's tons of adrenaline pumping through your system? Yeah, not fun. I cannot believe people play that and have a good time. It was pure agony for 10 minutes, then I bailed and never looked back.
ReplyDeleteI will probably suffer through the first 30 minutes and then never look back! I'm getting anxious just thinking about it! lol
DeleteHonestly Lissa, it's a bit freaky for the first half hour, the next hour or two are parnoia filled, then it devolves into, "Oh look, another obvious trap, let me just switch to the gun with most ammo. ~Sigh~" You'll be fine. We have faith in you!
DeleteProtip: EVERY SINGLE NECRPMORPH laying dead on the floor... They are not dead, don't let them fool you!
